About Us
Shari Doke, M.A., CCC-SLP, Founder and Speech-Language PathologistShari graduated with both a B.A. and M.A. from Washington State University in 1990. She has practiced in a variety of settings including hospital and outpatient clinics, early intervention programs and public schools.
When working in the public school system Shari observed that special education laws were making it increasingly difficult for children to qualify for therapy. She also found that when students did qualify for services, public school funding limited the amount of therapy they could receive. As a result many children were left without the services they needed to be successful. In 2006 she opened Speech Tree to address this issue by providing personalized therapy services to children in a one-on-one setting. Shari specializes in children with multiple needs and she enjoys watching them make progress over time.
Shari is passionate about her work. She views therapy as both a highly trained skill and an art. She combines a wide variety of therapy techniques that help children make optimal progress in their speech and language skills.

Debbie Waite, M.A., CCC-SLP, Speech-Language PathologistDebbie Waite became part of the Speech Tree team in June of 2010. Debbie received her undergraduate degree from Utah State University and her graduate degree from San Jose State. Debbie worked as a speech therapy assistant at a private practice clinic while working on her master’s degree. Upon graduation, she worked in a school setting serving preschool through middle school children.
Debbie’s therapy skills are very strong. She initially specialized in children under the age of three years old and now helps children of all ages. She is kind, caring and compassionate and it shows in the relationships she builds with children. The mother of one child asked "Is there a way to clone Debbie?." She is highly regarded by both her colleagues and those families she works with.

Mary Young, M.A., CF-SLP, Speech-Language PathologistMary Young is a welcomed addition to Speech Tree. She joined our team in August 2011. Mary earned a B.S. at Brigham Young University and a M.A. at the University of Illinois; a program which is nationally ranked as one of the top 10 programs for Speech Pathology in the country. Mary completed both her undergraduate and graduate programs in 5 years compared to the typical 6+ year time frame.
Mary enjoys applying her strong academic and research knowledge to every day practice, and truly values her clients. Her clinical experience has taken her to a variety of settings with a wide range of individual needs (hospital, nursing home, infant-toddler center, public school, residential school, home health, private clinic, university clinic), but her true passion is pediatrics. She loves being silly with children and strives to plan sessions that will help them to stay motivated and make progress toward functional goals. One parent at Speech Tree said, "My son begs, 'Take me to see Mary!'"
